Welcome to our school

As Headteacher, I feel privileged to serve the pupils of St Giles within an exceptional school and community, where warmth, expertise and inclusion shape every aspect of school life.
Our school supports pupils aged 2–19 years, with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), and a wide range of complex physical, medical and communication needs. Each pupil is unique and we are deeply proud of the diversity, personality and spirit that they bring to our school. With their individuality and unique ways of communicating, our pupils are at the heart of everything we do and their achievements, whether small steps or significant milestones, shape our purpose each day.
What defines St Giles is the way we know each pupil: how they communicate, how they regulate and how they learn best. Through carefully structured pathways, trusted routines and the right medical and therapeutic support, every pupil’s strengths, preferences and potential are recognised. It is our responsibility and privilege to nurture that potential in ways that are meaningful, personalised and joyful. Communication and inclusion sit at the heart of all we do, through Makaton, AAC, switches, objects of reference and shared moments of connection, ensuring every pupil is heard, respected and celebrated and that their achievements are recognised and valued.
Strong, compassionate relationships sit at the core of our work across all pathways.
