Students at St Giles School are developing independence and life skills through practical activities such as preparing food using vegetables grown in school, learning how to care for plants by watering and nurturing newly planted seeds, and taking responsibility for growing produce to support school events.
Time spent together with peers highlights the importance of friendship and shared experiences, while outdoor learning encourages curiosity, creativity and appreciation of the natural world. Students also explore art and nature through outdoor displays made from natural materials, inspired by the work of artists such as Andy Goldsworthy, supporting creativity, observation and wellbeing through hands‑on learning experiences.
