The International Week celebration at St Giles School was a vibrant and educational event where each class selected a country to explore.
Throughout the week, students learned about the culture, history and traditions of their chosen country, engaging in creative activities. Parents were invited to join in the fun, especially for a special art activity where they helped decorate large pieces of fabric inspired by the countries that the students had studied.
These colourful and creative fabric pieces were then proudly displayed in the school hall, turning the space into a vibrant, cultural gallery. At the end of the week, an assembly was held where each class proudly shared their discoveries and showcased their beautiful artwork, it was a celebration of learning, creativity, diversity and community
Colourscape
The Colourscape experience was an activity during our International Week celebration, offering an exciting and sensory experience for all students.
Each class had a dedicated slot to explore this amazing cause and effect installation, which combined vibrant lights and music. Students were able to interact with the installation by activating the lights and sounds through sensors or switches, allowing them to create their own unique, colourful displays.
The interactive nature of Colourscape gave students the chance to experience the connection between their actions and the resulting changes, making it both educational and fun. All students thoroughly enjoyed this hands on activity and it was gratifying to see their faces light up as they engaged in this experience.
